What is Asian Youth Forum?

Asian Youth Forum allows the participants to learn and understand each other’s basic language and to put emphasis on the use of the English language as an important (international) language and tool for communication in order to properly convey one’s ideas to another. AYF brings together the youth of Asia to an exchange opportunity to learn about each other’s culture, values, perceptions and history in order to bridge cultural gap and foster an environment of awareness, understanding and tolerance amidst differences. It provides a venue for the participants to freely discuss specific social and global issues that concern the youth in Asia today and understand how it affects them. Furthermore, it provides the participants the opportunity and venue to plan for a solution which can be applied in their communities upon return home to resolve their chosen concern issue. Finally, it provides the participants training on business-life skills and help them prepare to become responsible global citizens and international leaders.

Where and when will the 10th Asian Forum be held?
The 10th Asian Youth Forum will be held in Vladivostok, Russia. It is tentatively scheduled to be held from October 30  to November 6, 2012.

Who are qualified to apply?
All youth living in an Asian Country with aged between 18-25 years. 
(Non-Asian youth is welcome to join as observer)

How can I apply?
To apply for the 10th Asian Youth Forum, interested youth must complete and submit the online application form provided in this site. Interested youth must also submit a copy of his/her Curriculum Vitae (CV) together with the recent picture/photo. Upon completion of these required documents, the applicant must send all of it as email attachment to apply@asianyouthforum.org with the following subject and file names:

Picture/Photo: AYF10_PICT_COUNTRY_LASTNAME
A Letter of Recommendation from a professor, employee, or colleague is also required (please download the form here). Accomplished Letter of Recommendation form must be sent to the organizers via email directly by the recommender with the subject and file name: LOR_Country_LASTNAME to asianyouthforumvladivostok@gmail.com.
(All documents may be sent in .doc or .pdf format, and in .jpeg/.jpg format for picture/photo)

When is the deadline for application?
The deadline for application will be on 29 March 2012. 

How much will it cost?
The selected delegates must be the one to arrange and pay for their Russian Visa Application, domestic flights (if necessary), and for their roundtrip airfare going to Vladivostok and back to their home country. A participation fee of 200USD will also be collected from the selected participants for accommodation, food, kits, and other forum related expenses during the entire duration of the AYF10. The AYF Organizing Committee will arrange all your meals and accommodation in Vladivostok from that participation fee.
In addition, Letter of Support/Sponsorship Letters will be given to the selected delegates to help them raise funds that they need to attend the forum. Maybe check out the Fundraising Page for some tips. 

What about a visa?
Use this link to check if you will need a visa to enter Russia. If so this will add to you travel costs. Maybe check out the Fundraising Page for some tips. For now look at the cost of a visitor visa, however nearer the conference we will have details on AYF visa’s.

I’m not available during those dates, can I arrive part way through the AYF?

No, we cannot accept delegates who do not attend for the entire duration of the Congress. If you are not arriving or departing on the stated days, you will have to arrange your own accommodation in Vladivostok, Russia.
